Manifesto of the Chequameon Bay Chronicle

During Citizen Kane, Charles Foster Kane purchases his newspaper and prints the following declaration of principle:

I will provide the people of this city with a daily paper that will tell all the news honestly. I will also provide them with a fighting and tireless champion of their rights as citizens and as human beings.

This marks the change in the editorial and news philosophy of the newspaper. The CBC (Chequamegon Bay Chronicle) also needs a set of principles that readers will always know what this stands for:

  • Tell the stories of the people and places of the area honestly and fairly.
  • For that purpose we take serious the principle of non convicium contra bonos mores: we will not engage in slander no matter how important the issue, for no matter how important an issue is, a person's repuation is also equally as important.

Now let this blog begin!
